20 Nov Sunset in the Country

As this afternoon’s fading light over Carlucet blended into a spectacular sunset I took this photo. The sky was aglow with gorgeous hues of a beautiful autumn sunset, an extremely picturesque end to a brilliant sunny day. For the moment we are enjoying fantastic weather in the stunning Valley of the Dordogne. Most mornings now the surrounding countryside is covered in frost, sparkling like diamonds in the early autumn sunshine.  However, this morning the frost enjoyed an extended stay as Lacomté lay hidden quietly within a dense, cold & damp early morning fog. By mid-morning the autumn sunshine had burnt its way through the fog, melting the frost and warming the daytime air, leaving us to enjoy another beautiful day, enjoying a feel good blue sky complimented with wonderful warm sunshine.
